| - I just moved from San Diego, so I am on the hunt for a new stylist. I don't like the search - all I want is to find someone great, who I have good rapport with, that I can stay with for years. I came last week to get a cut and color - my stylist did a great job on my color, I absolutely LOVE it, but I felt like the organization at this salon was lacking. They lost my appointment - I made it for last Tuesday afternoon but never got a call to confirm, so when I called to make sure they had me down, they said they didn't have anything. The receptionist did some investigating and found that someone had put it in for Wednesday under "Christina new" rather than putting down my last name, which she had asked for upon booking. After I told them I was going to just call a different salon as I only had time to get it done on Tuesday and had been planning on this, they told me they could squeeze me in at the very end of the day.
Again, she did a wonderful job on my color, it's exactly what I wanted, and I am incredibly particular. While she did cut my hair and it looks good, I noticed I still have some split ends - but it's not worth going all the way back to ask her to cut more off. I was charged $30 more than I was told it would cost on the phone...so I ended up paying $190 (20% gratuity included) for a color and 1 1/2 inch trim. Also, my favorite part of getting my hair done is getting a blow out afterward, but she just quickly blow-dried it, and it was very frizzy and looked undone. I've never left a salon feeling like I needed to go home and do my hair but that's how I felt once I got in my car and really looked at myself.
Look, I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for, I don't expect to pay $80 for cut and color, but I didn't do anything too drastic, and I left with frizzy hair, so I felt like that was a lot. Again, I really liked the girl that did my hair, she was really sweet, easy to talk to, and is great at coloring hair, but this salon is just not for me.
