It can be tough to find scratch cooking in this neighborhood let alone authentic European technique, product and flavors. That being said Look no further, I stopped in to Forte for lunch and the first smells were freshly baked bread and roasting garlic. Greeting was really warm and I was at table with water and a menu within moments. The menu is full of intriguing and pleasantly unfamiliar terms, I love to learn new preparations when the background is this authentic. Upon recommendation of the server I had a watermelon and finely grated feta (so creamy it actually melts on your palette) salad garnished with lemon, sesame and finely cut super fresh red onion. The moisture content, texture and brightness was really wonderful on a hot summer day. I also tried the shrimp and garlic loaded with herbs and butter & wine, great contrast to the salad. So many great things on the menu to try I wish my stomach was bigger. That being said I washed it down with a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc and I was in and out in under 30min, service was friendly and right on time! Value was wonderful so I'll be back soon for sure.
There is also a market component with charcuterie and cheeses, wine spices etc. product looks great, need to check that out when I have more time.
