| - A friend rented suites here as part of a timeshare exchange and invited us to stay with her. It is a well-appointed apartment, with a full kitchen, living room and television as well as loveseat/sofa and accompanying comfortable chairs and rug, king sized bed, jacuzzi, separate shower and sinks, and compact washer and dryer. The decor is dark, rust-colored and earth tones, with geometric shapes. It should please most people's tastes. The appliances are not high-end, but they are functional and nice. There are dishes and pots and pans included. The hotel provides a shuttle to Walmart where you can purchase food and other items. The hotel boasts a movie theater and bowling alley, and business center, aside from the usual casino offerings. The pool is pretty with a waterfall, next to an exercise center. The reason for the lack of two stars is the fact that the property is sprawling and not well-marked. It is hard to know which of the several buildings you should be going to. Where you check in and where you might ultimately end up for your room can be quite a distance apart. There are golf carts to help you carry your luggage, but not a ton, and there were people dragging their suitcases behind them on the trek to their room. Also, and more importantly, the hallways on the way to the room where we were (the Sage Building) were dark, cavernous, and claustrophobic. It did not feel comfortable and actually, a little dangerous. It is not well-lit on the floors, in the hallway, or on the grounds, in general. This should be fixed. And finally, there does not seem to be much around in the way of staff or assistance in the building. There was one guy vacuuming on the first floor, and before that someone who almost ran us over with a cart. But what if you needed to ask a question, or just a sense of not being just by your lonesome on the property? The outside of the property is pretty nondescript, nothing to write home about. But the fact that this is an economical way to spend time on vacation in Las Vegas more than makes up for that. They just need to work on the lighting/safety issues and get more staff presence.
