| - Go Gadgets pissed me off so much that I actually created a Yelp account just to write a review about how unprofessional they run their business. These people are shady, disloyal, and misleading and will not hesitate to take advantage of a customer. Go Gadgets deserves to be put on notice so that people looking to get their cellular devices wont be getting robbed of their money.
WHY?
They charge a ridiculous holding fee of $20 that you must pay even if they cannot repair your phone. They do not handle your cellular device with care. Once its in their possessions, the contract they make you sign states that they are not responsible if they further damage your phone. They overprice their services and products and don't even do a good job at repairing. They assume certain customers are clueless about electronics, so they attempt to take advantage of them. They run their business very unorganized. If you ask one of their employees one question, and ask a separate employee the same thing, they'll each give you different answers. They basically lie to make a sale.
I SAY THIS BECAUSE..
I gave my white Iphone 5 to Go Gadgets. Physically, the phone was already in very good condition. There weren't any noticeable or strong damages done to it. I took good care of it. The only problem was water damage. So I had a nearly perfect conditioned phone, that was not functional. I had 2 plans for this phone. A) attempt to repair the water damage so that i didn't have to buy another phone. B) if unsuccessful, sell it online for its functional parts. Originally, Desert Wireless gave it a go, but with no success. So I entrusted Go Gadgets with the task to to repair water damage.
Well, Go Gadgets ruined both plans for me. They called me back to tell me it was beyond repair. Fine by me, I still had Plan B. I come to pick up my iphone 5, only to find out that its been scratched more than normal, the flash for the camera looks completely tampered with, and there was something white lodged inside of it. I didn't complain about the scratches, there was no point, but my flash and whatever white substance hanging within my phone was not acceptable. One of the guys tried convincing me that all the iphones look like that.. This guy really tried to talk to me like I was stupid. I know what my phone looks like. I was not going to pay a $20 stocking fee when my phone came out less valuable when it came in.
They told me to come back in 45 min and they'll take care of the issues. I came back in 2 hours for their convenience. I wanted to make sure they took their sweet time in restoring back to its normal physical state. If they rush, most likely their repair wouldn't be as clean and appealing. To my surprise, the technician working on my phone looked like he barely got started. And because I had arrived, he began rushing, which meant he wasn't taking his delicate time to ensure my phone was getting a proper restoration.
They had me wait at least another 30 min on that uncomfortable couch. Whats the point of having that couch? That couch feels like im sitting on concrete. I shit you not, if you attempt to fall into that couch, thinking you'll sink right into it like you would with a normal couch, youre just gonna break your ass. Toss that shit, nobody want to sit on that.
I digress.. He finally shows me my iphone 5. They didn't do shit with it but mess it up more! Besides the white speck, abnormal flash, and scratches, my phone now has glue marks along the sides with dirt stains mixed in. My phone is white, that stuff is not rubbing off. Plus they messed with my front glass screen. Its misaligned, protruding out more, and feels like a cheaper substance then what it was before. There's also some sort of scratch or glue mark on the interior side of the glass, so there is no way of fixing that unless they tear it up again.
I was over it. The more they touched my phone, the worst it got. Internally it was damaged, and physically it was worth nothing now. I also feel like they swapped some of my phones good parts and replaced it with some mediocre cheap crap they have. That's why I have a missing flash lens and a cheap feeling glass on the front.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1) Don't bring your broken Iphones to any repair shop. Just bring it to an apple store. They'll take your busted ass iphone, and exchange it for a legit refurbished one. its part of their "OOW Service". way better than the used overpriced iphones at Go Gadgets.
2) Or if you want, go to Desert Wireless for iphone repair. I went there first before Go Gadgets. They couldn't repair the water damage either, but they also didn't mess up my phone. No stupid stocking fee of some sort and they're very informative and trustworthy, versus Go Gadget where I felt like they were trying to con me. Plus Desert Wireless got a nice soft couch.
3) Sell your phone online. Go Gadget was only willing to pay $5 if i sold my iphone 5 to them. Gazelle.com $90 broken. $110 if its unlocked and broken.
