  • I recently attended a wedding reception here, and I have to say I was extrememly disapponted. The reception began outside with passed hor d'oeuvres, and then a cheese plate set out on an otherwise large and empty table. I must admit that the hor d'oeuvres served were delicious. They had coconut shrimp, bruschetta, and petit Beef Wellington, however the frequency with which they were passed was terrible! I'm not quite sure how often it was, but it seemed like every 7 or 8 minutes the waiter would come out with 1 or 2 trays, he would be surrounded by guests, and the food would be gone in seconds and then we would not have anything again for another 7 or 8 minutes. While the view was beautiful, it was very windy and the few small space heaters they had hardly provided the warmth needed by women in evening gowns. Once inside, things only went downhill. While the food was edible, it was nothing special. The rolls were from a package, and when we asked for more, our waiter, who we saw very infrequently, told us he couldn't bring us any more as they only had enough for 1 per person. Really!!! 1 small packaged roll per person. After asking several more times from random people walking around, we finally got another basket of rolls. When I say random people walking around, that's because no one was clearly identifiable as a waiter/waitress as they were not wearing uniforms. Even the person who appeared to be in charge was wearing a casual checkered shirt with khakis. No tie at all. When dinner was being served, I saw guests receiving their plates before the bride and groom and before the parents of the couple! There was no rhyme or reason as to how everyone was being served, and the staff, for lack of a better description, seemed dazed and confused. They didn't do any better clearing the tables either. We sat with our plates in front of us forever. At one point several tables were clearing their own plates and putting them on a large table which seemed to be a staging area on the side. Need extra water? You can ask for it if you can find a waiter, but don't count on getting it any time soon. Several times we got up and took our glass to the bar outside the reception room and got our own water. Coffee? That was self serve. I have never been to a wedding where you had to get up and serve yourself coffee!! Several people spilled coffee on themselves carrying it to the table. As far as the cake goes, the pieces they brought to our table were barely 2 bites worth. I thought maybe the cake was small but there was plenty left when I walked by. The bathrooms were dirty and stalls were out of order. If you know you are going to have a wedding with 125+ people, don't you think you should make sure all the stalls in your bathrooms are in working order and that it is clean and we'll stocked with toilet paper and paper towels? The only saving grace was a wonderful bartender outside the reception area who was not only attentive and polite, but offered her own sugar free red Bull to a guest after the guest was disappointed that they only had regular red bull. The entire evening was a terrible experience. This was a destination wedding, which was definitely disappointing. I would never use this venue for my child's wedding or any other event based on the experience we had.
