  • I went to Mint for the first time today. I got a regular mani and pedi. Only $45 - which I think is a pretty good bargain. But they really rush you. My pedi was done and mani started in 36 minutes. The pedi is nice, although I had to ask more than once to scrub more callous off. The mani not so good. I don't have the greatest nails, they're quite dry and have a lot of hang nails and ripped cuticles. My nails were dipped in a water tray for maybe one minute, then they just filed and cut them right at the pedi chair. They don't move you over to the manicure table. That area appeared to be for the fake nails only. By the end, my dark pants were covered in nail powder and I found nail clippings on top of my purse. My tech didn't even push my cuticles back, or use an orange stick. It's been 5 hours and my nails don't look very good. Despite sitting under a dryer for 15 minutes, after I left I bashed one nail and gouged the polish. The rest look as though they are bubbling up around the cuticles. I think it was applied too thickly, I'm not sure. I'd go back and complain but I'm on my way out of town. I think I will just be removing the nail polish from my hands and do it myself. The salon itself is clean and modern. I like their idea of each customer having their own personal box for files, etc which will be there with your name on it next time you come. For the price I may go back for a quick pedicure but I don't think I'll ever bother with a manicure.
