| - WARNING! If I could give this store and the heavyset customer rep with a scruffy beard, A.J., whom we dealt with, ZERO stars, I would. This piece of garbage bait and switched my wife and I when we came to the store to upgrade our phones. First, he promised us a bunch of freebies, accessories, chargers, cases, etc., and then charged us hundreds of dollars for them without our knowledge or permission in order to boost his sales numbers at our expense.
We didn't become aware of these charges, of course, until we received our first bill two weeks later, and they were not minor. For example, he charged us a recurring monthly fee of $30 just for the phone cases! That's $360! He also claimed that the screen protectors he "gave" us as part of the deal didn't fit on the phones for some reason, so we left the store without them, but he made sure he charged us for them on the initial bill.
Then, he promised to renew our account without putting us on a new contract. We found out later he had lied about this and instead signed us up for a new contract that would require us to pay nearly $700 if we just wanted to quit the company and turn in our phones.
As part of the "deal," A,J said we would have to turn in our old phones and change one of our numbers. We turned in both of our old phones to the store, and he wiped them both clean. Two days later, my wife's brand-new S9+ blew up and she lost all of her family photos and videos among other things before she ever got a chance to back them up. Then, Sprint ran her around town, promising to recover her media files when she tried to return the defective phone until she was finally able to get a replacement phone at a Tempe store. They were, however, unable to recover her files.
In addition, A.J. failed to report the return of one of our phones, probably pocketing it for a freebie or burner phone.
I don't think we are A.J.'s first or sole victims. I imagine he does this kind of thing every day to every customer,, however, He gets away with it possibly because people are too embarrassed to admit they got ripped off, or because maybe we're all so accustomed to the telecommunications companies ripping us off and adding ridiculous, additional charges to our bills that we assume this must be normal. Or maybe people just pay their bill and don't pay any attention to what they're paying.
Please, do not do business with this individual if you don't want to get ripped off! All the 5-star reviews here seem to be about someone named "Blake," not this guy, so maybe not all of the reps at this store are dishonest. We are in the process of reporting this jerk to Sprint and cleaning up the mess he made of our account. Of course, whenver you try to resolve a problem with any telecommunication company, they just divert your call to this individual or that department until you lose your will to live.
