Bought 4 tires, installation, and warranty here about 2 years ago. Falken PT722 215/55/17 for a Chevy Cruze. One of them suffered a catastrophic failure within 4 months which resulted in a blowout due to tire separation. This was not covered even with their useless extra tire protection we paid for. So we went elsewhere (BigO) and had them replace it. Just yesterday the same thing started happening to the left rear tire. Took it to pepboys, found the order, found the warranty, found the defect. Would not do anything because their warranty prorates tires where competitors replace the tires. They basically give you $20 credit and then tell you that they no longer sell these tires and recommend a Michelin at 2x the price. Then tell me I need to pay for another mount and balance as well. This is a HORRIBLE place to buy tires. I told the sales guy it would be the last time I would set foot in a Pep Boys and I wouldn't be recommending them to ANYONE, and I will not. There is plenty of good companies within a close proximity to this place. So here I sit waiting for a great company I have always used in the past (Big O) to mount and balance the new tire. Stick to the legit companies! The guys at Pepboys are there for your money only, they have no concern for anything else.
