  • Went to Ken's nails on 44th Street because i heard great things about it - however my experience was less than good. Where to begin...I hadn't gotten my nails done in a while and decided to grow my nails out before going in to ensure they would be long enough (normally they are so short i have to get a gel manicure to grow them out and my second manicure is better). Andy was the tech that did both my gel manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was fine but the gel manicure was NOT! Not only did he completely file down the nails i had worked so hard to grow out by trying over and over to re-shape my nails but when he was "done" they still were not right but there was nothing he could do because they were now too short. He then started to apply the navy blue polish. He built up the polish so much that it started to build up on the sides of my fingers and he would say that there was something wrong with the light i had to put my hands under. I even asked him if i need to keep my nails under the light for longer and he said no. He then proceed to try and use nail clippers to cut off the excess hardened nail polish. I almost let him cut it off but then felt the clippers on my skin and noticed that he was about the clamp down on the side of my thumb! I immediately pulled my hands back from him and said to just leave it. The other thing Andy did was he would not let me look at my nails. Every time i tried to look at my nails he would grab my hand and say "No no, leave your hand here". I found that to be very annoying. Even when i was paying and was trying to sign the credit card slip he was grabbing my hand to "finish" when there was really nothing her could do to fix what he had done...he just kept applying clear polish. I will not be going back here. If you decided to give them a try DO NOT get ANDY!
