This use to be my favorite spot for sushi to go to with my boyfriend. We live in Centennial (North-West) and we would always make the drive here. After a bit we started to notice the service was a bit slow and the chefs always seemed overwhelmed. Although the food is very good, we started to feel a bit jipped when we would go.
After about a year and a half we decided to give this place another shot since they have late night sushi available. We went on a Sunday night around 11:45pm-ish. This place is always busy so we expected to wait a bit, and we were okay with that.
We left the restaurant around 1:30am and I only received one roll and my boyfriend only received two rolls. The waitress did notify us that the chefs were a bit behind but we had no idea they were that behind. It was very weird because when looking around no one was getting rolls, only appetizers from the back kitchen. I would feel better if I saw the chefs pushing out rolls and we just had to wait our turn, but no one was getting rolls. We saw at least three couples cancel their orders and leave.
It's very sad because Sushi Koma has so much potential. The food is delicious! I have loved all my appetizers and rolls, when I'm able to receive them. It's a service issue. I do not want to wait an hour and a half for one sushi roll.
