BEWARE all you railfans. Photographing is NOT allowed of any part of the underground system without written permission. Allow me to explain how I stumbled upon this rule. I'm a tourist in Toronto so I want to photograph the trains and subway cars. So here I am photographing the front cars as they stop to unload their passengers and I start to notice that the conductors of these trains are staring in a hostile manner. I then noted that a few picked up a phone and were talking and staring at the same time. Well, I put two and two together and walked upstairs to the ticket booth and asked If photography was allowed. Toronto transit officials are evidently EXTREMELY unforgiving about photography of the underground and the train sheds of Union Station.
