"Management Ought to be Ashamed to Present This Buffet As It Is"
Note: Management is Harrah's style... Not Caesar's
We arrived about 4:45pm and the dining room was nearly empty. That should have been a good sign that everything is clean, fresh and ready for customers... wrong! We waited quite a while for our drink orders to be taken. Many of the items were not labeled at all. Several that were labeled, were incorrect, examples: Macerated cherries for dessert topping were labeled "sticky buns"; chocolate chip cookies were labeled "lemon tarts". Main dishes were also mislabeled. Two dishes each labeled "bouilliabaise" did not look similar. When asking the cooks behind the counters what certain items were, they either did not know, or did not understand the question (in English). Peel and eat shrimp went empty for a while. (For $30. the shrimp should already be peeled.) The serving counters in front of the foods had food scattered all over them, and were not cleaned often enough. We were NEVER asked if we wanted refills of our iced teas, and had to flag someone down for coffee at the end. I hate to think how much worse it got at "normal" dinner time, after we left. The best I can say for Le Village is that the room itself is beautifully designed.
