| - I like taking trains as much as the next person, but on a rainy day, when I'm saddled with luggage, I'm pretty inclined to pay up for a cab to get me to the airport. So I'm glad that my husband, who'd taken the Union Pearson Express in from the airport, convinced me to do the same on our way out of Toronto. It was cheap, comfortable, and convenient, basically everything you want a train ride to be.
We walked to Union Station from our hotel in the Financial District (I like the underground passageways of downtown Toronto), and picked up two tickets for the UP for about $25 CAD, much cheaper than a cab. These trains run every fifteen minutes between 5:30AM and 1AM daily, which means you'll never miss a flight on their account.
The train was super nice, with comfortable seats and free WiFi and jacks for charging iPhone batteries that have been drained playing Pokémon Go. The ride was actually enjoyable, and we were at the airport with plenty of time to spare. If you're close to one of the stations, there's no downside to taking the UP. It's affordable and reliable, and you can relax and miss traffic while you travel.
