| - First of all, if you have little ones to like the c train, do the Earth a flavour and ride the train there, by doing that you'll also eliminate road rage from congestion. If you are arriving by train, just go in the side of the platform with the indoor entrance, down the ramp, and you'd arrive at the ticket counter. If you're arriving by car, pay the $7 parking, the rows the the parking lot are easy to remember because they are marked with animal symbols. There are separate entrances for c train riders and car riders which is good. The car entrance also have a few ticket machines to purchase tickets. However, there are many ticket windows in the c train entrance and it's well staffed. Service is great.Admission isn't cheap, $25 adult, $17 kids in the spring/ summer season and you might end up spending $100 on this outing including the meals and gift shop, but we don't go to the zoo that often, mix you really like it there, apply for a membership which is unlimited annual access for therice of 3 admissions.
The prehistoric park and the Canadian wilds, it's better to go in the morning so that it won't be as hot the dinosaur place can be quite hot. Go across the bridge , take some pics of the river, and then head to destination Africa. I'm. Warning you right now, anyone with heart problems, babies, etc stay on the tot path, cause 1 it's shorter, and 2 I suppose it avoids those gigantic dinosaurs that automatically roar at you as you approach, it's not a horror movie scene, not that scary, bu for small kids it might .
Then head to destination Africa, see, lions, hippos and the like. If you've got little ones, the kinsmen playground is the best, with sections for each age group, note, kids under 12 only, can't join in the fun as an adult.
Also, must stop at the kids zone, which is beside the tiger exhibit. On weekends, there's a train for kids, but they must be able to ride the train by themselves without parents. The ride, about 10 min, is supervised by two adults so it's safe. now for a family ride, that's the merry go around, better than the one at chinnok, and cheaper, at $3 per person, same with the train.instead of horses, there are 30 featured endangered animals. The species of the animals are labelled above the pole. Note that the larger animals, like the llama, are stationary, meaning they are not going to go up and down during the ride, which is meant for motion sick people, perhaps, or very tall people. If you want the up and down motion, go on an animal whose feet doesn't touch the ground. For elderly and people with very young kids, there are two chariots, one featuring a peacock and the other a butterfly, which is just, sit on the bench and spin around.
Now for the food,on a hot day, soft serve ice cream is avaliable in every kiosk as well as the cafe. And some also have slush and screamers, which is slush with ice cream on top.
Cafe is decent, with kids meals avaliable.
also butterfly place and rainforest
excellent gift shop at the entrance
