  • Believe the hype. Amazing, amazing bagels! Order a bagel with 'lox spread' and thank me later. They might warn you that 'it's not actual lox, you know' and hell, it might not even be cream cheese, but it is the best damn breakfast for $2.50 you find in the Market. Sort of a smokey, creamy, pink salmony paste slathered on a just out of the oven sesame bagel has to be a must try for Toronto. Sure, carousel is good but about 2x more expensive and IMHO not half as good. Don't forget to get some freshly baked bagels to go. $4.50/half a dozen, right out of the oven. RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN. And don't let the haters colour your vision of this place- they're NOT supposed to b emulating NYC bagels. You can't compare Montreal with New York. They're totally different and both have their ardent champions and detractors. They're both good.
