| - I came here looking to lease. I had called and spoken with Cruz, who was very kind and helpful over the phone. The price was right (1.1k for a 2 bedroom) but... Well first of all the customer service sucked. When I got there, a young Hispanic girl helped me (I dont remember her name because she was so unmemorable except that she gave me the one of the most mediocre tours). Well, "helped" is over stating it. The first time I went she refused to show me the apartment because she was alone. I have checked out like 10 apartment complexes (granted most were upscale, unlike this one) and out of those places only three other leasing agents were alone in the office but they all locked their door, put a brb sign, and showed me the apartment. I think the girl was just lazy. :/ But I really wanted to love this apartment because all the other places I was looking at were $1,500 and up and although I could afford them, it is better to save considering at the end of the day you are just renting. I called back the next day, Cruz answered and was shocked that his coworker did not show me the apartment. I came back knowing she would not be alone but unfortunately it was still her that showed me the unit. She had no enthusiasm. She didn't even show me the ammenities!!! I mentioned I already had a unit reserved at Inspire and she said her friend lives there and that Inspire is a much better apartment! So I dont know if I should be upset or if she did me a favor by discouraging me from renting here, afterall, the apartment was very run down and lots of scratches, noisy, and thin walls. But I did feel better about my decision to rent something more costly because the experience and the people you deal with daily make ALL the difference. Ironically I went on to visit South Beach and the leasing agent there was alone but she still gave me a full tour, and that is what sold me, seeing the many great 24 hour ammenities at South Beach. And her enthusiasm and optimism made me get a premium view and made me want to get my lease for the next day! So while no one thing makes or breaks one's decision to lease an apartment, the tour and leasing agent make ALL the difference. Perhaps if Cruz had been the one to give me a tour things would have been different, after all, I really wanted to be sold on this apartment. But then again, given the crappy condition of the apartment, if I signed a lease I would have definitely regretted it!
