These people need to stop pumping iron for a minute and get some lessons on account management and billing procedures. I signed up over the summer for the $19 a month deal after leaving L.A. Fitness at a rate of $25 a month. The $6 savings per month wasn't worth all the headaches of dealing with these people.
They billed me correctly at $19 a month for a few months, then stopped billing me for 2 or 3 months. Then in late September I get a charge to my account for about $140.00. I call and leave messages for this girl Lauren in Billing, who rarely calls back and is always tied up when I call the gym (probably dealing with other pissed off customers who were over billed). At first she can't figure out what the problem is, then she says that I should get a refund for $83.00 in 7 business days. 2 weeks go by and I have seen no refunds in my account so I call Lauren back. She assures me that she "just checked on it" and my refund is on its way and it may take up to 10 business days.
So now 3 weeks have gone by, and no refund. I call Lauren back completely frustrated and I ask her status of refund. She acts completely dumb and says "uhhh I thought we were just not going to bill you next month in lieu of a refund" WTF. Completely exasperated, I told her that I no longer wish to do business with this fitness club, cancel my membership and process my refund immediately.
Don't join this gym. Go somewhere else.
