  • We tried The House the other night. The good: the atmosphere and food was great! The AC was cranked up high so it was really cool in the dining area. The bad: We were there for and hour and a half and we had only ordered an appetizer and a dish to split. They weren't super busy so I don't understand why the food took sooo long. The trout spread that we got took a good 15 minutes to get to us and the main dish took another 15 minutes after we had finished with the app. The layout was also a bit weird. It took us a few tries to figure out where the hostess stand was. If you come in the front entrance, you have to walk through through the dining room to get there. Also some of the pricing is outrageous for what you get. I understand that local means that the meal will be more expensive, and I'm all for helping out the little guy. But come on! I order a "lemon-lime soda" (as it says on the menu) for $2.50 and the waitress hands me a can of Sprite! Ridiculous! I also didn't appreciate getting charged $3 extra to split a plate with my date.
