Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side. No, it's not pretentious. Quite possibly they serve the best hot chocolate I've ever had in Calgary. I haven't tried the desserts, oddly enough, but for lunch I've ordered the Croque Madame and also the Pain de Campagne Baguette (Gravlax with Boursin cheese). Its cosy-but-elegant ambiance is wonderful for a light lunch over good conversation.
