| - If I ever see Bertha on the town, I'm going to give her a well deserved hug. That's what Bertha's Cafe is: a hug but for you mouth.
I honestly love everything about this place. The ambiance is great. The setting is great. And the food is GREAT!
It's nestled in a strip mall so Bertha's can be tough to spot at first glance, but once you've made it to this little slice of heaven, you won't forget it. You are greeted by a display of mouth watering, homemade delicacies. Cupcakes, cookies, cheesecake... These treats taste like they were baked by woodland fairies and laden with magic dust. They taste like the joy of watching fireworks on the 4th of July. Get one. Actually no. Get more than one.
The lunch choices are equally as tantalizing. I often roll with the $7.95 lunch special: 1/2 salad, 1/2 sandwich, full happiness.
I would recommend the asparagus panini and Thai chicken salad. BEWARE: THE PANINI HAS BEEN SHOWN TO BE EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE! DO NOT EAT THE PANINI IF YOU LOVE SANDWICHES OR ASPARAGUS! ITS TOOOOO DELICIOUS! YOU WILL BECOME ADDICTED! As for the Thai Chicken Salad, the dressing has a little kick to it and a lot of love in it. I dream about this salad sometimes. Seriously. This is the salad of my dreams.
I can't say enough good things about Bertha's. Everything I have had is delicious, the staff is always really nice, and it's cute little joint. Like I said, this place is a mouth hug. If you're in the area and looking for a great lunch spot, Bertha's is where it's at.
