  • My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. The ambiance was like your typical old-fashioned steakhouse with cherry wood panels and old-looking lamp shades. I came here wanting to try their huge Kobe Beef steak, but they didn't have it! DARN! So...I settled for something else... My boyfriend ordered the $60 26 oz. Double Eagle Strip, their signature steak, and I ordered the $45 Strip Steak (16 oz., which was huge to me, so I only finished half!). For our sides, we ordered the mushrooms and their special veggie of the night: green beans (cooked in garlic, butter, and wine and seasoned with pepper). The service was excellent from start to finish; when we received our steaks, the waiter asked us to cut the middle of our steaks to see if they were satisfactory to our tastes. The sides were served by the waiters too, instead of us serving ourselves. We never had to ask for water to be refilled, as someone was constantly watching all of the tables. The quality of the steaks was very good, and they were lightly seasoned with just salt and pepper. There was a nice crispy texture to the steaks. I really enjoyed it (although, I am still a bigger fan of Delmonico's!). The mushrooms were very tasty as well, more enjoyable than the green beans. Since the waiter knew it was my birthday, they gave me a HUGE piece of lemon cake with a candle on it (their signature dessert!) at the end of our meal. It was delicious! (If I wasn't so full, I would have finished it!) The cake was nice and moist, the lemon taste wasn't overpowering, and the frosting was just sweet enough! SOOO GOOD! When we were ready to leave, I was curious about their world-famous cigar lounge, but the hostess informed me that they had to close it down because of some anti-smoking law that passed last year. Now all you can do is buy cigars. Since I was bummed about the cigar lounge, the hostess showed us the James Bond table! It was soooo cool! The table's top opened up like flower petals and pushed upwards to reveal a nice display of Napa wine bottles etched with James Bond movies like Dr. No and Tomorrow Never Dies (the last one to be etched!). The theme song was playing as it opened up too! It was SOOO COOL! The table is valued over 1.25 million dollars or more now (I forgot how much they bought it for). It's a must see at Del Friscos! A great steakhouse for those old-fashioned, quality steaks!
