| - This is the only chain theatre I know of, not just in the GTA but in all of Toronto, that accurately replicates the experience of red-carpet treatment without actually being a celebrity.
I am not being facetious when I say that. I've been to a lot of theatres over the years, including some that I considered (and still do) world-class experiences, namely Roy Thomson. The Queensway Cineplex rivals them, and I still find myself awed whenever I walk into the place. With expansive hallways, a downright-meticulous cleaning crew and some of the friendliest staff I've ever met in a theatre, this place is a welcome oasis to catch any new release.
While there are other Cineplex theatres that have the "VIP experience" (namely, the Burloak location, which I frequent and I'll do a write-up for in the future), Queensway takes it a step beyond. The last time I was here for a film, I picked up seats beforehand, had chicken strips delivered to my seat and the seating itself felt like I was in a deluxe Italian recliner - it's no small feat to impress me, but they did it.
I have never had a bad experience with the staff. I even recall waiting outside a theatre for a family member to come out of the theatre, and struck up a conversation with one of the cleaning staff that stretched on for a good ten minutes with both of us laughing about new releases. Incredible customer service and attention to making sure everyone has a great experience.
If there's any downside to the place, it's the fact that the parking lot is almost always jammed up, but considering how many nearby malls and sidewalk parking is nearby, it's not a bad thing to park on the street and walk a couple blocks over.
This Cineplex ranks atop my favorite theatres in the GTA, and is a place I will be back at again in the near future. Highly recommended.
