Sad to say I had to lower my opinion of Harp Pub a notch. Went recently and had an appetizer, the Guinness Fondue with pretzel sticks. The bread was ok, warm and not too hard or soft. But the menu describes the fondue as a "cheese" fondue. I am guessing it is a processed imitation cheese product, much like that sold by the gallon at Sam's Club and served on nachos at high school football game snack bars. Terrible salty pasty mixture with no discernible cheese taste. If they are going to advertise it and serve, take the time and trouble to use real cheeses and create a flavorful experience. Also had the fish and chips and was disappointed at the slipping quality. The fish ("cod") was fine, but the batter was leathery and not crisp. It separated from the fish when cutting it, which is usually a symptom of the fish not being dry when battered, or frozen after battering. In either case, that is a preparation issue. Hopefully the kitchen and menu will get some much needed management attention to bring the experience back in line with expectations.
