DirectTV has a "locked in " price that they are selling customers but it is only locked in if you are using DirectTV and AT&T Internet. I was sold this package last year and told my price lock would be good for 3 years. Well low and behold after 12 months, my price went up because I had my internet with Centurylink because AT&T internet is not available in my area. So because I do not have AT&T internet bundled with DirectTV, I am non-compliant with the contract and do not qualify for the price lock.
The best they could do was try to get me to buy the movie channels to save $2.50 for 12 months, but my account increased by $8. A $2.50 decrease really is not helping me because if I forget to cancel it by month 12, I will be charged for the movie channel.
This is a shame that people are coming around selling these bogus packages to people especially elderly people.
