Stephanie is super sweet and will call you and email you back quickly which is great- especially because it seems like she works a lot of hours. It is disappointing though that the special she advertises for newborn photos only applies if you are willing to sign over all rights to your photos- that means she can use them for advertisement or sell them. I had wanted to do a few family photos as well, and was willing to pay extra for the extra work, but because my husband is law enforcement we do not want his photos anywhere online or used for advertisement (to try to help Stephanie get more business.) It is simply for our protection with all the crazies out there (that especially right now would kill someone just for their job.) Stephanie said in order to buy photos from her without signing over all the rights that we could either pay her a few thousand dollars OR I could go to Target and buy a camera myself. That was a little rude sounding to be honest but I am sure she didn't mean it that way. I got her number through a friend so you would think word-of-mouth referals should go as far as photos she wants to use for advertisement. For example, if I had used her then my other pregnant friends would hear about her as well and also could end up using her, but she lost that opportunity by being narrow-sighted and not law enforcement friendly. There are a million newborn photographers in Las Vegas and a lot of them are great so that's the good news. I have paid a photographer over $1000 before for my own personal photos so this isn't about being cheap- but he is a world-renowned photographer in Burbank, CA and even he wasn't so high on his horse to feel he needs to keep all rights to your images.
