| - This venue is owned by the same folk that own the Peppermill/Fireside down on the Strip. And if you know that going in, you can tell.
The motif is the same, a sort-of 1970s disco-inspired theme. But here it is much more subdued, using light ivory and tans, instead of Peppermill/Fireside's eyeball-busting neon pink & purple. The design at Rainbow is tasteful, in a 'retro' sort of way.
I am entirely immune to gaming, but it was easy to see that this environ was soothing and compelling toward an older, more-experienced local gaming crowd. Also, being so immune, I cannot speak to the looseness of the odds or the strength of the free cocktails. But as far away from the Strip as this place is, it's likely you get a lot of loose and a lot of strong.
I was there instead to sample the specials at the coffee shop / diner.
I went with the prime-rib deal. I don't remember the exact price but that it was pretty low for what I got. My sides ... and a lot of the other entrees ... seem to fall into the category of 'comfort food.' Again, that's probably a spot-on match to the target customer.
The food was pretty good for the price and the service quality was more than adequate.
It's a bit out-of-the-way, down in old-time Water Street Henderson, but if you are down that way, stop in and grab a burger or such, and get yourself a gander of this particular unique little corner of Vegas.
