| - I went to the Mesa store. These folks are a train wreck. I'm not sure how you can run this place and keep your soul. I would bet the gentleman who waited on me was the owner...He was super creepy. So on my first visit, I explained I was interested in childrens' beds that took a boxspring and mattress because I had just bought 3 sets of mattress/boxsprings. No problem, the salesman helped me pick out the beds. Great, they are ordered and I've got a wait period of 1-2 weeks. It is August. I point out that I'll be leaving towards the end of September. No problem they are being transported from Cali, they will be here long before that. I paid upfront, in full. I didn't want to be difficult, I wanted to get my kids beds and get things moving. I thought VDUB would be on board with that...No, not so much.
I go back in just a few days later and find out that one of the beds I ordered doesn't take a boxspring but it doesn't say its a platform either it just says mattress. I explain to a different salesperson that this is a problem, I just bought these new mattress sets and was really specific about what I wanted to buy. He suggests I return the boxspring, I explain that's not what I wanted. My kids have some health issues so the height and support is important and I was really specific with the salesperson, why can't I get what I was told I was getting?
Why do I need to explain my entire life history and why this is so important to me? Why isn't enough to say, sorry, I can see that you ordered 2 beds with that feature and if you say you wanted that feature, I get it, let's help you out. Nope, not gonna happen. It gets so much better than that. First, it is, well how do I know you said this to the salesman? Right, I'm just going to come in here randomly, pick up your catalog, point out my order is wrong and lie to you? I gain what from this? You need to speak to the salesman to verify my story...mine, the customer who has paid for everything upfront and is now finding out she didn't get what she ordered. That customer, you need to verify my story because I'm so shady...Okay, how about I need to exchange this bed...Oh no, i can't exchange it, it is custom...umm, say what? My $300 bed is custom but I see it in a catalog with a bunch of other cheap beds so what detail about it is custom?
He insists the beds are arriving that day and I should be receiving them in the evening or the following morning..Wait for it..guess what doesn't come. Uh-huh..And, I don't get a phone call. A week goes by, I call again and my beds are coming on Saturday. Saturday comes. They don't have all my beds. No one thought to tell me, no thought to call me. Why would they? They have my money. I've waited a month to get my beds and I still don't have them. I put them together myself. These beds might last me a year if that and I bought the upscale brand. The real wood, straight from Malaysia product. The stuff is no deal. Ikea is leagues beyond this stuff and less expensive. Why didn't I shop IKEA...UGH!
Yea, am I stuck with VDUB...unfortunately for me but you could learn from my lesson and never ever shop there...
