After a tiring 9-hour drive from CA to AZ, we decided to dine at La Fonda del Sol as it was convenient to our hotel. We hoped for a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere but were unlucky. The noise volume here is extremely loud. Looking around the narrow, booth-lined, almost full dining room, we did not spot any rowdy teens nor partying adults so it was simply general conversation. My wife ordered a chili relleno and chicken taquito; I had a shredded beef taco and a bean tostada while we both went for cheese enchiladas. The food was served on extremely hot plates (watch your fingers!) with beans and rice but it seemed everything ran together. We agreed that the cheese enchiladas were good but the chicken was very dry as was the beef. My wife said she's had much better tasting chilli rellenos. Chips and salsa came before the entrees; chips are thin and crispy but rather dry-tasting. Our server was efficient and very pleasant so earned the third star.
