| - For a health foods type grocery store, they seem pretty mainstream. I wish they carried more vegan and local products and it would be awesome if they actually promoted local farms and farmers markets.
A lot of items are pricier here than the bigger chains like Fry's. They may be more comparable to Whole Foods.
The employees are all very friendly and helpful. It's almost like a small town grocery. I have found their staff in the vitamin/health section to be surprisingly very knowledgeable.
I wish they had more local products, as previously mentioned, but I also wish they were hip to the market for plant-based, environmentally conscientious, and sustainable food production. I would much rather go here than Whole Foods, but Whole Foods seems to have brands that are trying to make a difference (Hampton Creek, Eat Pastry, Justin's).
But when I see a family here shopping and their cart has mostly meat, dairy, packaged foods, and a few generic vegetables, I remember that Sprouts really is a neighborhood grocery and they aren't catering to people like me. They just happen to have more hippie stuff than Fry's.
