  • This trendy whiskey and craft beer bar is just steps from Olde Mecklenburg and Sugar Creek breweries in South End, and serves up a great selection of local taps in addition to its own distilled libations. But on the night we visited, the music in the balcony was WAY too loud to allow for conversation, and the performer kept screeching his way through a bad set of 80's tunes. Unless you're a whiskey drinker (or want something other than craft beer), the two breweries on either side of Broken Spoke are far better choices.
