| - I brought my 13 year old Husky Shepherd to the Referral Clinic this week. Her throat is swollen, she was vomiting blood and has stopped eating. After reading some of the poor reviews, I really hesitated. But then spoke with the manager of our boarding kennel. She told be she shadowed the doctors there while in school. She said one person brought their pregnant dog in. By the time the people brought their dog in, the unborn puppies were already deceased and putrefying. The infection was so bad, the mother couldn't be saved either. She told me she was sure the people blamed the clinic and probably wrote one of those bad reviews even though it was their fault.
I was greeted even before I got in the door by the receptionist. The entire time I was there, absolutely everyone from the Internal Medicine specialist, Dr. Boyce, to every one of the technicians treated both my dog and me with friendliness, kindness and respect. No conclusion was reached regarding my dog. Dr. Boyce told me he suspects cancer, but wants Jessie to undergo further testing.
If I had any concerns it would be that the wait is almost a week before appointment is available. When your dog is acting sick and it's not really an emergency, a week is a long time to wait. The doctor told me to be sure and call if Jessie would "crash" in any way.
I have confidence that whether it is good or bad news, the staff at the Referral Clinic will find out what's wrong with my dog.
