| - I am a fan of Ink Master, and have watched it from season one. Across all of those seasons, I chose Sausage for my first large tattoo as the artist that I most connected with both as an artist and as a person. I made the appointment, sent in my ideas and waited anxiously for the day to arrive.
My appointment was at Revolt's Meadows Mall location - odd that there's a tattoo shop in a mall! They just recently opened it, and it's super clean and new. I was a little early but Sausage was in there and gave me a friendly wave from inside. Yes, there's a tattoo chair in the window and I was "it".
They opened up and I came in. I had spent the last three days in all kinds of emotion about what I had described and whether that was what I really wanted. So I went in and started talking with Sausage about what was possible and what he had drawn. From the very start, he was warm and welcoming and willing to work with me. He helped narrow and focus my ideas and we arrived at a design that I really wanted. I can't stress enough that it was his positive, collaborative attitude that made it possible for me to get what I wanted. He basically drew the whole tattoo while we were talking without negative talk about the work he had put into the design already.
I was in the chair for around 5 hours, and through it all Sausage was warm, personal, and funny. He was very willing to talk about his experiences on Ink Master, along with (some) politics, movies, and culture. I spent a large part of my time in the chair laughing and joking around. I left with a beautiful tattoo that I will wear with pride.
I've seen where others have mentioned prices. My attitude is "you get what you pay for" and I don't regret for a second paying premium dollars for a premium tattoo. More than the tattoo itself, the experience as a whole was just amazing. Everything I wanted and more.
Pros:
- Stunning tattoo
- Clean shop
- Professional staff
- Sausage
Cons:
- The mall air conditioning is aggressive. I was pretty cold, so wear something warm.
