| - Three weeks ago I went to Pink Nails for a pedicure. The price was less than many of the other salons in the area, but you get what you pay for! A young Asian man ended up doing my pedicure - didn't get his name. He started digging into my big toe before I'd even had a chance to soak - and after I'd already told him I had in-growns. He was not even close to gentle with the tools, and made me jump out of my chair more than once. The in-growns didn't feel like he'd taken care of them properly - there was less discomfort, but still didn't feel like they were corrected.
Finally got through the prepping/cleaning, and got to the polish. I came prepared with pictures of the design I wanted on only my big toes (orange w/black spider webs for Halloween). Couldn't have been any clearer. He had one toe almost done, it looked nothing like the picture, so he cleaned the toe and started over. Finally got the design somewhat close, and I figured I'd better stop while I was ahead. I don't know if it was my misfortune to have this guy, if he was new/inexperienced or what, but the whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth so to speak.
I started having problems with the in-growns on the big toes within a few days. Today I went to my usual salon, and the girl had to let me soak repeatedly, and spent a good 30-45 minutes having to dig out what he left behind. He cut the nail wrong, which left old nail embedded in the skin (which explains why I still had discomfort after he was done). I went through a lot of pain today to get the nails corrected, but at least they have been cut properly and the problem corrected.
I will NEVER go to Pink for a pedicure again. Ever! I recently purchased a Groupon for a Pink manicure - did that before I found out how badly he hacked up my toes. But I feel like there's less chance of issues with my fingernails so I'll use it eventually.
