  • I did not have a good experience with this office for my first pregnancy. I transferred doctors at 26 weeks. Dr. Sauter was fine. Professional but a bit cold, not my preferred bedside manner. Which isn't a deal breaker by any means, but it was important to me because I felt like he responded negatively to my questions about natural birth, birth position (one - absolutely zero flexibility), doula, midwives, etc. He actually made me feel stupid for asking - and stupid or uneducated, I am not. I research everything thoroughly and always have the best interest of myself and my child first. My negative experience was with the ultrasound technician. She was rude and unwilling to listen and certainly not answer my questions. With my first meeting with the mid-wife they asked all the normal questions. Last missed period, etc. I knew my conception date but due to my last missed period, they had set the due date. On the second, "official" ultrasound they measured and I saw a date on the ultrasound machine. So I asked about the date as it was two weeks different from conception due date matrix and I was surprised. She rudely stated, "I do not know or answer questions about due dates. If you have any questions you can write to ________ (brand of ultrasound machine)" Umm, okay? Wasn't necessary to be rude or react like that. I assume that many first time moms have questions and as a medical professional (or so I assume to be a medical professional as I sit there partially clothed in a dark room on a table) maybe taking a moment to answer questions to to get someone that will answer questions would be the medically responsible way to handle a situation. Kindness goes a long way. I changed to a doctor in Centennial Hills that provided me the birth experience that I desired. I had a three hour natural labor TWO WEEKS prior to the due date provided by Dr. Sauter's office and tech. With an 8lb 10oz baby, I don't think my son was actually early, just the tech should have taken more than five minutes to correctly measure the baby or listen to my questions and/or concerns about the date. I don't even mind my 45 minute drive to Centennial from Anthem, finding the right birthing doctor is key. As an educated, advocating, well-informed parent Dr. Sauter's office did not provide me with that experience, they just acted like my questions were ridiculous and not their job to answer or listen to.
