One of the best places to go for food in downtown Mesa. The food is fantastic! Lunch special comes complete with a light tasty cup of soup and a crispy spring roll along with your lunch-size entree. My favorites to order are the cashew chicken and yellow curry with fried tofu. There are also many vegetarian friendly options offered up here.
With dishes named Evil Jungle Princess and a great lunch special, what's not to love? Oh, right! The serve. When it is close to the 3:00PM midday closing time do not expect much. The hostess/server has already checkout of working about an hour ago and is the newly appointed mayor of cranky town.
On this last visit we arrived just a little after 2PM, thinking it would be plenty of time to grab a cup of soup and some tea. When approached to be sat at a table, we were asked if we "ate fast"? Um, what?! Do you serve food fast? Not really based on previous visits but you don't see me questioning you about it.
It gets worse. They were out of soup. And that happens but they didn't even check with us if we wanted something else. Instead, they just brought out to us some spring rolls. Um, what is going on here?! We were hungry so we ate them but this could easily have been a huge issue.
While this was all happening, we saw a man who arrived at 2:29PM be turned away. It was applauding how unbelievably rude they were to him. Holy hell! Maybe it was an off day, but it is not cool to treat paying guests like that at all. Given that downtown Mesa is not the busiest of places, you'd think a restaurant would welcome the opportunity to serve as many guests as possible.
This experience has certainly made me change my mind about where I want to get Thai food in the future. It is a real shame that the amazing food here can not be matched in attitude by the employees.
