There must be a college somewhere that teaches indie coffee baristas how to dial in a gind, make microfoam and dish out attitude to customers. If there is, the staff here trained there and graduated with honours because they make a decent coffee and serve it up win a generous helping of attitude.
Good coffee and pastries. Everything else about the place is obnoxious - the servers, the music, the overall experience.
Go for the coffee, try to ignore the rest or find someplace more congenial. With all the the new coffee shops popping up we' will all soon have some choice based not just on coffee quality but also service.
