I guess I should have known not to go to this place when I walked in the door and the front desk person was yelling at a customer. I signed up anyway because I love the yoga instructors and that was their new home. I paid my sign up fee(unheard of in most yoga studios) and my first and last months dues. Over the past year I have been a good customer, walked in daily and went to yoga and walked out. About six weeks ago I notified the front desk that I was moving within the next couple months and asked what the cancellation policy was. The response was "just come in and cancel before your next bill is charged and your last month is covered from your upfront fees". Today I went in to do just that and was told but the same person that I WOULD in fact be charged for my next bill because I had to give 30 days notice prior to my last bill being charged. Of course this wouldn't have been an issue if I was told this when I asked six weeks ago, but since I'm moving in a month this puts me out a months worth of dues. After 10 minutes of debate and the front desk guy doing everything he could to make me feel like I'm an idiot I finally yelled and asked to just be cancelled. He said "well I would have worked with you but now I won't". Isn't it good customer service to ACTUALLY work with the person? My best advice is to run as fast as you can from this place. They obviously don't understand customer service, or just being a decent human in this world.
