One of my favourite things in Montreal is, funnily enough, this Belgian chain. They specialise in chips, which are served in little baskets with your selection of dips, though they also do various main courses. Being Belgian, mayonnaise and beer are obviously important elements, though because it's in Quebec you can also get poutine. It's nothing special and the prices are not bargain-basement, but it's reliable enough and I'm a fan of their chips. This branch on Saint-Laurent has a terrace which looks out onto the famous thoroughfare - good for people watching, though it's not the most interesting stretch - and they also open up the front during summer so air can circulate.
