This hotel is very pretty and the luxury rooms are spacious but be prepared to pay for it. It was booked for it's location to the Calgary Stampede - about 20 minute walk away - but we used our car since parking and transportation was included in our Kick Off Day Parade Package. Probably should have booked a basic room instead. People at the front desk were helpful and polite and into the Stampede thing. Inconvenient to move your luggage from parking garage to lobby due to steps, no ramp or elevator. You have to park your car outside of the lobby, unload all your luggage onto the sidewalk, move your car to the parking garage (sign posted says limit is 20 minutes), come back to the lobby to check in. Had no time to explore the many amenities we paid for - pool, gym, etc. as a hotel was just a place to sleep for us. The Yellow Door Bistro in the hotel was very good. The Chef's Choice changes daily. The 3 course meal was amazing. Because hotel is located in a business like district, shopping shuts down about 6 PM. For simple pick up meals and snacks, Mac's (24 hour convenience store) is a little more than a block away - we used this place twice in our 2 day stay. Can get a glimpse of the Calgary Tower as you walk towards Mac's.
