The cab ride was from PIT airport to my hotel, so I didn't have to call for a ride because he was already there in the cab line. The driver was nice and had a good story to tell, but it was a bit too much for me at 10PM and greatly tired.
Things got worse when we got to the hotel and he had trouble with his credit card reader. He kept driving around the parking lot to get a better signal and I was starting to feel uneasy. Once he found a good spot, he swiped my one card several times and then asked for a different card because he thought maybe there was an issue with my card. He punched in my other card and it finally went through. This took about 20 minutes.....
I then noticed pending transactions on both of my cards, so I called them the next day and the person who took the call said the card that was swiped won't go through, so I shouldn't be concerned.
The next day, I saw that both transactions did indeed post. I called them back and the person who answered the call couldn't help me and said to call back between 9-5 and ask for Julie....
I called Julie and left her a vm. She called me back the same day, listened to my issue, credited my one card while on the phone and emailed a snapshot of the credit transaction. She was efficient and solved my problem.
Julie gets 5 stars, the cabbie gets 3 stars, and the decision-makers who decided to install crappy credit card readers get negative stars.
