  • As avid Steeler fans, we loved this museum but it also showcases all of other sports such as baseball, hockey, golf. Their Kidsburgh play area spans 2 floors and includes an area where kids can build structures with big foam blocks, a slide and so much more including seating for parents to take a break! I loved the Heinz company exhibit showcasing the 145 year timeline. With 2 kids, we go through at least one bottle of Heinz ketchup per week in our household (not exaggerating!) so this exhibit gave me a greater appreciation for the company's history. I had to seek out the Mister Rogers exhibit - talk about bringing back memories! It's Pennsylvania's largest history museum and an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. With that said, there's a LOT to take in and, as with all the other reviews, make sure to allocate enough time to go through it all esp if you're paying the $16.50 adult ticket. We spent 2-3 hours there and probably only went through 30% of the museum so we will be back on our next trip to Pittsburgh. If you need a snack between exhibits there's also cafe on the 1st floor (serves Starbucks). FUN FACT: There's a goal post from the old Three Rivers Stadium outside the museum and a Heinz ketchup bottle at the top of the building. TIPS: Make sure to bring a student ID for discounted rates ($16.50 for adults but only $6.50 students and kids under 17). After the fact, I read about a AAA discount so make sure to inquire about that too. The main shopping area of the Strip District is only a 5 minute walk alway.
