| - This place advertises itself as a "locals" casino, and it really lives up to the name; it's a really friendly place that's worth visiting for more than just the bowling alley and movie theater. The staff is always friendly, there's a couple good spots to stop into for a burger and a drink if you're so inclined, and there's a nice little ice cream fountain near the Subway if you feel like unwinding with a shake or malt.
The food court is a pretty standard food court, but the buffet is exceptionally affordable (just join their free rewards club at the information desk and you'll get a discount!) and a good value. We would always meet up with out-of-town guests to grab the buffet before seeing the laser light show in the main atrium at night, and always left replete.
The light show is a fun juxtaposition of animatronic animals, music, lasers (ostensibly), and the waterfall, from which fog emanates for the lasers to project across, giving the whole show a third dimension of fun. You can grab a beer or cocktail and sit at the wee bar in the middle of the forest atrium if you want, or hunker up next to the waterfall itself for a better view.
All in all, next time I'm in town I'm planning to swing by Sam's Town again, now that *I'm* one of those out-of-town guests, myself.
