  • Crepe was tasty but the restaurant is not a place to dine alone. I love crepes and this morning I was in the mood for some - *both* savory and sweet. I went here b/c of the good reviews and it started out pleasant enough... A gentleman was standing outside and welcomed me in as he took me to my table, a nice corner table by the door which I said to him was "perfect." (I have a sensitivity condition so generally when I go out to eat, I prefer sitting away from the bustle of people). As soon as I started to sit in my chair, he changed his tune and asked me to sit in a middle table at the banquet wall on the other side of the room. Mind you, he was the one who took me to the original corner table so it was extremely disappointing to have him change his mind as I was sitting down. I don't like banquet seating - and especially not being squished between other tables so when he asked me to switch tables I decided to just take something home rather than put myself in an uncomfortable situation. I went to the counter to place my order (a sweet crepe with pears, goat cheese and honey which had quite a decent amount of filling) but as I was standing watching the chef's create the crepes, they asked if I wanted to sit in the side corridor while I wait. It was a long, dark corridor where I'd just be staring at a dark wall three feet in front of me. Not interested! I travel for business all around the world, and have MANY relatives in Paris, so I appreciate a good crepe when I can find one. I also find that the true test of a good restaurant is how well they treat me when I'm dining alone. Do they give me the same quality of service and attentiveness as with larger tables or do they ignore me and/or treat me different b/c they think one person will not spend as much as a larger table. I was quite hungry and had planned to eat two crepes in addition to libations but the disappointing treatment made me shorten my order and my visit. Their loss. I actually thought the crepe was quite tasty and the person who gave it to me put a dollop of whip cream in a separate container without my having to ask - so that the heat of the crepe wouldn't melt the whipped cream. What's even more disappointing is that the person seating people put a couple at the table I was originally going to sit at - two people who could have just as easily sat at the second table he wanted to move me to... Next time I'll find somewhere else to enjoy a crepe.
