The High Roller is the signature attraction of the LINQ, first and foremost a shopping/dining/entertainment area with a hotel and casino shortly forthcoming. Measuring at 550 feet it is the world's tallest observation wheel, 107 feet taller than the London Eye. 28 cabins make up the wheel; up to 40 people can fit into one cabin.
PRICING: General admission pricing is as follows
1x Day (11:30am to 7pm) $24.95 / $29.95 in the Happy Hour (open bar) Cabin
1x Night (7pm to 2:30am) $34.95 / $44.95 in the Happy Hour (open bar) Cabin
1 Day ($44.95) and 3 Day ($54.95) passes to board with no time restriction BUT you are limited to one ride daily.
Supposedly there's a way to get cheaper tickets if you are a) a local, b) stay at the Quad or Flamingo or c) play at any Caesar's blackjack table and get a suited blackjack to get comped tickets.
LINE
The No1DP and I went around 11:00pm on a Sunday, which meant there was literally only 5-10 people in front of us and we only saw them as we were about to board. There is plenty of space to accommodate the line inside the building. With lots of line space there were several checkpoints - after No1DP bought our tickets we had to show our tickets to staff at least 3 times.
There's an opportunity to buy the adult smoothies while in line but I don't think you can bring those in the pods. There's also a photo opportunity where you can purchase photos after the ride but I declined to purchase ours as I looked too ugly in them.
PODS
-HAS AIR CONDITIONING. Trust me, this was much appreciated.
-Two small benches on each side
-Eight monitor screens on top with a cheesy yet entertaining announcer that informs you of the safety rules and various facts about the High Roller or Vegas itself.
-Keep in mind that pods are continuously in motion as you are being loaded and unloaded.
VIEW
The view was surprisingly much better than what we saw at a helicopter ride early last year. However if you are riding at night this doesn't translate to good photos. If you're using flash the glass will reflect it so there goes your chance to take a good view pic or selfie.
I'd recommend this attraction to Vegas visitors. No1DP and I thought it was worth the money but we would wait until later to avoid the lines!
