  • We were pleasantly surprised. The food was better than expected for the simple decor, and the service was very patient, helpful, and friendly, versus the highly reserved treatment we're used to getting at sushi restaurants. We ordered off the lunch menu and I chose the 2 choice combo. I ordered teriyaki chicken and seaweed salad. My husband ordered the 4 choice combo and chose teriyaki chicken and three sushi choices. Both meals came with good miso soup and white rice. The teriyaki chicken was a generous portion, moist, and not swimming in sauce. The sauce was not too sweet, which we liked, and was just the right amount of salt. The seaweed salad was fresh and the best I've had in a long time. My husband says the himachi was watery and not a good clean flavor, a tiny bit fishy, and maybe frozen too long. But even so, he'd order it again for the price point. We've found fresh sushi in Arizona to be super expensive! We gave our experience 4 stars even though it wasn't the best food, because the food was good, the price was right, and service was excellent.
