| - The referral was tough to get through. My dr. sent it and told me to go get the x-ray done the next day, just walk in. Of course when I get there they don't have my referral and my dr. did not give me one to bring because we did all of this over the phone (I was injured). I guess they have some central place that faxes go that take 5-7 days to get entered into the system. So there I sat, calling my dr. giving them a different fax number, one to this precise location, so I can get the x-ray without having to leave and come back later. They said they faxed it and the gal helping didn't know actually where the fax machine was that it would be coming to, although she thought it was for sure at her location, just somewhere. So 45 minutes later, she found my fax and we got on with the x-ray. Then there was a major breakdown in getting my x-ray results to my Dr. office. They expected my Dr to be part of their SW Medical staff, which she isn't. Why my insurance makes me go here rather than Desert Rad like I have always gone to, I have no clue. I hate the disruption of continuity of care, but I go here because they tell me to, and then we struggle for a week trying to get a simple x-ray report to my dr. The employees here are super friendly, the place is clean but they need to work on getting the results/referrals quicker. 7 days for a basic hip x-ray is a bit long, esp. if my hip had been fractured.
