I came and lined up an hour before the grand opening on Friday May 5th. It was a cold, windy and rainy morning. There were at least 30 people lined up ahead of me in the rain, they probably came 1.5 hrs before the opening or maybe even earlier. The wait seemed to take forever since it was so cold and wet out. Luckily I found 1 glove inside my coat pocket and put it on the hand that I held my umbrella with. Its not their fault that their opening date happened to fall on a cold and wet day. They were nice enough to give out umbrellas to those who didnt have any! I took the day off to use as a resting day and to come to the opening since I heard good things about their NY location as well as to attend an aerial class that I would not have been able to make had I worked that day. Finally 11am arrives and I hear the DJ playing music and crowds screaming on and off. It took about an extra 20 minutes for me to get inside and order. I was excited for the chance to get a swag bag and a chance to win free food for a month. I was disappointed to see a spinning wheel of discounts, free side and such. I spun and won free baklava which seemed to be the most popular of prizes but would rather have gotten free swag bag. I ordered the chicken and gyro combo regular sized platter for almost $13 and added 2 pieces of falafal for less than $2. I got a free soft drink for signing up for the points card which they failed to mention at the cash register I had to bring it up as I read about a free drink somewhere. The food was quite good! but I cant compare it to the NY one since I have not tried that one. I love the white sauce but beware of the red sauce. They gave me a small line of the red sauce and now I know why. I asked for more hot sauce not knowing how spicy it would be and boy did it make me sweat! I ended up scraping some of it off cause I couldnt handle it. Everything was delicious and portion size to me was good but thought the price could've been a dollar or two cheaper. I was not able to finish the meal as it was quite filling I polished through about 3/4 of it and took the rest home to finish later as a snack. I definetly will come back when I'm craving it but I will not go out of my way just to go there unless I plan to buy or do something close by. It would be a good excuse to get some bubble tea afterwards since that area is lined up with Gong Cha, Cha Time, Share tea and Coco.
