Waffles - Belgian but very thin and not crisp but tasty not like a yucky mix that you'd get from most breakfast places. Came plain. I think syrup and butter is extra. $3
Ice cream - delicious. In the suburbs options are limited to ice cream that is similar in price and somehow way less tasty. Chocolate is - well - chocolate-y which is less common than one would think, more like dark chocolate. Birthday cake - also as advertised - with mixed in cake and frosting and sprinkles (not as sweet but much better than Brusters). I'm curious if people don't like this ice cream then what would be better.
Mix-ins - the Birthday Cake with Smarties (not my choice) was surprisingly good! The smarties were crushed so provided an occasional fruity nibble instead of a hard crunch. The fluff was not a great choice as it disappeared into the chocolate.
Price - not sure why people are complaining - $6.50 I think for two 1/2 scoops in waffle cones (ice cream came to top of largish cone). This is plenty of ice cream and calories and the price is reasonable given the quality and location.
Atmosphere - I expected Grateful Dead music. Let's leave it at that. This is not a chain.
Service - see above re Grateful Dead music.
