  • I recently came back from a cruise and downloaded pictures I bought on a StingRay excursion to find out the next morning my computer crashed and then through the network our kindle fires too - aghhhhhhhhhh! I had just downloaded over 1500 pictures from our cruise and to be honest I was NOT very happy. I already had a bad morning hearing our dog who we had boarded was given to someone else in error and now this - how can it get worse. We decided to go to Best Buy initially to the Geek Squad to bring our hard drive in and have the contents removed and put on to an external drive. In speaking with Geek Squad I asked if we bought a new hard drive would you do this for us free? I explained to him I had our family in town and we needed to meet them for dinner. He referred me to a sales associate who he trusted and told him what he told us. "Not a problem" - he then has to leave for the day that sales rep and also the Geek Squad consultant. We are going over our options and pick the new system. When we go to buy our computer the manager comes out and says that he can not do what we were told for free and that it would be $89.95 to transfer everything over. Why would I waste two hours of my time when I have family in town? I was pissed! I said this is what I was told, blah blah blah. He said that he could discount it - I said no and also told him why would I trust him and Best Buy after this. I asked for his name, his managers name and will be writing a letter. I was so exhausted already from the issue with our dog and then the computer issue I was done! I had just bought a computer in September 2014 from this location for our daughter and was shocked with what happened. But, if there is a happy ending from this madness - We went out to Fry's at TownSquare and had the most helpful sales associate and ended up with a better computer with more memory and I got a price match too. Fry's will now have our future business.
