| - I'd kinda sorta think I'd heard of Envy Steakhouse before but couldn't have told you much more, til I took advantage of a Living Social deal. It's a bit north of the Paradise restaurant corridor, in the Renaissance in a not so inviting area... so valet. The Renaissance is nice inside & the valets & restaurant hosts were welcoming. The steakhouse is quite lovely- open, well lit, contemporary with a red, warm richness. Our waitress, Nikki, was smiley & sincere. We got complimentary olive bread & french bread- warm with room temp butter & yummy. Tomato caprese for an app was the only part of our meal that lacked- the mozzarella balls had zero flavor & there was hardly any balsamic but the colorful heirloom tomato arrangement was a nice touch. We both ordered filets then shared a sauteed mushroom medley & garlic mashed potatoes. We also asked for each of the sauces to play with. The steaks were great, the sauces were fun, the mushrooms were plentiful & the potatoes, while not especially garlicky, were velvety. For dessert, we got the flourless chocolate cake & creme brulee- both were decadent (& I'm a creme brulee snob). All in all, we really enjoyed our experience- definitely recommend, would definitely like to go back. Unfortunately, that area just isn't the 1st place I think to spend an evening!
